ECO BABY!

I just wanted to inform everyone that I found a FANTASTIC line of products called "Nature Babycare" at Target. The company was founded by a Swedish mother who was disturbed by an article she read stating "that every year of a baby's life resulted in a mountain of used diapers weighing half a ton, every year. Even more disturbing was the fact that the traditional diapers were mainly made of plastic made from oil."

Well, I tried these diapers and they work just as well as Pampers, Huggies, etc. Geoff accidentally put Wyatt in these Eco-diapers overnight and there were no leaks--zero! They have had quite large "number 2s" that have not even taken this diaper out. I am very impressed.

As for the cost...it is $9.54 for a 30-pack. So about 32 cents per diaper. A little bit more than the standard diaper but I think worth it. Even if you only buy a pack once in awhile, it will make a big difference.

The same company has a little box of biodegradable bags to put the diapers in. I can put three very full diapers in one bag, then I just toss it in our big garbage bin.

Target has this line of products on the end of the baby food row (where sale items normally are) so they aren't prominently displayed. I just worry people won't see them and Target won't carry them anymore. So check it out...they also have wipes, baby bath, baby shampoo, etc. Lots of cute stuff in cute Eco-friendly packaging.

I found a chart comparison from England where these diapers were ranked higher than any other diaper on the chart (the fifth diaper listed): http://www.naty.com/bilder/motherbaby.jpg

And their great website: http://www.naty.com/eng/index.html

Check out the "press" link for all of the awards they have won and pictures..including Gwyneth Paltrow's baby Apple wearing these diapers back in 2005 (they have been around for awhile!)

Go tell all of your friends! =)

Fat Tuesday

All four of us had a fat Tuesday yesterday. Geoff and I are big fans of curry and there is a great place here that we like to get take out from...and we always eat too much! The boys ate their fair share of food too (don't worry, no curry). They downed over six jars of baby food plus some cut up chicken, broccoli, cantaloupe, and cheerios.

We ended our long weekend with some pool fun. Please don't be jealous of our pool =)

He BIT me!!!

Yes. J BIT W on the cheek. The long lines are from his top teeth and the two dots on the bottom are from his bottom teeth. W was innocently walking with the walker and J jumped up to take it from him...Wyatt made the slightest protest and Jack bit him. Wyatt was soooooooo upset (understandably so). J has not been sleeping so well lately and his shortness of sleep has made him a bit cranky.
A short while later they were laughing at each other so all is forgiven. For now.

Just THREE Snaps

I titled this post "just three snaps" because that is what I am constantly thinking while I chase the guys around attempting to snap up their onesies. They do NOT want to stop playing for a minute for a diaper change let alone for me to re-snap their onesie. Sometimes I have to resort to putting my feet on their shoulders to get the diaper done...then they take off (with me crawling after them) in an attempt to get "just one snap" on their onesie. So if you see pictures or videos with their onesies unsnapped, snapped crooked, with just one snap snapped, or no onesie at all...you know why.
The boys were especially SILLY during lunch today...check out those teeth!
Speaking of lunch, if my little guys could hold a conversation with me about food, I think it would go something like this:
Mommy: Why don't you like to try new foods?
Boys: We are selective eaters.
Mommy: Try some pasta...
Boys: Gross
Mommy: Please try some chicken or all natural chicken nuggets..
Boys: What the?!!!?
Mommy: How about some waffles?
Boys: Nasty
Mommy: Chicken with stars?
Boys: We don't want chunks....
Mommy: Cheddar crackers? Yum!
Boys: Yuck
Mommy: Cheese?
Boys: Nope...N O...No
Mommy: Please drink your milk
Boys: Too cold
Mommy: Look! I made you healthy mashed potatoes!
Boys: Are you crazy!?
Mommy: Deli meat?
Boys: Eww Eww Eww eww
This is not at one meal of course. They are pretty much all about fruit and cheerios right now. Breakfast is their best meal...they love cantaloupe, watermelon, fresh peaches, nectarines, bananas, pears...oatmeal...etc. Don't get me wrong, I am not complaining...I know that soon they will be eating everything in sight. It will be nice when we can go out somewhere and pack something easy or share what we are eating though.
They are going to have allergy testing in a couple of weeks because certain foods make their legs break out in a rash and something (I think eggs) makes them both vomit! No kidding...it has happened four times so far. That is why we are so careful with what we feed them. We don't try anything new for dinner so we don't have to pull an all-nighter if it makes them sick.
Anyway, back to lunch...check out some funny videos from lunch today...and yesterday in the video link section. The videos are "J fun"-"W fun"-"J say papap".

Road Trip!

We finally took a mini trip to a nearby mall to start getting the boys accustomed to longer car rides. It went well! They only had two 30 minute naps all day and were SO tired when we fed them dinner, but other than that...it was perfect. Not to mention that they took two 2-hour naps the next day which I can count on one hand the number of times that has ever happened before! The outlet mall we went to is very fancy. It has a great playground and those surprize pop-up sprinklers that kids can play in. They were much more into it than I thought they would be. They were crawling around the playground that has a foam-type floor while the bigger kids were jumping all around them. Here are some pictures....

Desperately wanting to crawl through the sprinklers...
I took this picture of my boys...and had a "they are growing up too fast!" moment seeing how big they looked in their stroller.

Early morning ViSiToR

Geoff discovered a baby snake..yes, I said a SNAKE on our front sidewalk just steps away from our front door-ewwwwwhhh!!!

I guess I should be grateful it wasn't a gator!

If you know me well, I am quite the animal lover but I just don't feel the same about reptiles. Geoff carried it down to a conservation area and set it free.

BIG day

Funny bathtime picture of W

Ok...today started with me laying on the living room floor at the crack of dawn with the boys playing around me. This is nothing unusual...just that this morning I could NOT wake up. I would doze off, then one of them would scream and I would wake up, doze off again, one would bang a toy on the window, I would wake up, doze off and so on.....well I looked because I heard a squeal. And there was J...standing up holding onto his walker and basically telling me to "get out of the way." I moved and he just tottered right by....I started clapping and cheering and he stopped, let go, clapped, and took a few more steps - all the while never losing his balance. It was so cool. I captured a little bit of it later on video (of course) and I posted it under their video section.

Well, not to be outdone, W managed to take a couple of steps too - this I caught on video and it is hysterical because he is on his toes and his legs are as stiff as boards.
