Howdy from TX

We are still in TX. Loving it. The boys are happy happy with all the attention and the change of scenery...and of course, the swimming pool! They are eating good, sleeping great and very content. My timeout percentage has dropped about 95% since we have been here. Can't complain about that.

I have over 500 pics on my camera right now. I think I might just wait to get home to upload and do a marathon blog post. I need to show the new van (LOVE LOVE LOVE it), the boys birthday celebrations, first trip to Chuck E Cheese, first trip to Sea World, boating with family, swim time at Grammy and Grandpa's house, first trip to IKEA (WAY fun for mommy), and much more.

Stay tuned....

Birthday Card Battle

J and W received b-day cards yesterday from Grandma and Papap. J opened his Thomas the Train card:

And W didn't want his bc it wasn't Thomas the Train....

Then W realized his was a pop-up card:

So it was OK:

But he still wanted Thomas the Train...
And J wouldn't give him the card....
So W pretended to go night night (a distraction technique):

Then W got the card:

And he partied:
And relished it:

Ha ha ha...!

And J wanted the card back (while pretending to go night night):

W still kept the card:

J still wanted the card:

Then they put the blanket on Katy so she could go night night:

And Katy ate the Thomas the Train card. The end.
Just kidding. She didn't eat the card.

Park Playdate

We met our friends at the park this morning for a playdate. And little Bo and Rylee (a.k.a Borylee-all one word) gave the boys an early birthday present. Their first Mr. Potatohead. Thanks so much - we love it!

So Julee and I put them all on a bench to get some pictures of our little people. J held out the longest in regards to smiles.

J got a kiss from Rylee:

Time Out

Yes, the boys were role-playing yesterday. J was playing mommy and W was playing himself...or maybe J. W was sitting on a little step stool in our bedroom and J was walking over and touching his arm and saying "time out." And W was laughing. And they just went on and on. Funny. Funny.

Slip 'N Slide Fun

We had a fun playdate with our friends that live a few doors down. I didn't think the boys were going to get near the slip 'n slide but after a few minutes in the yard they were standing on it. Getting wet. With their shoes and shirts on. And regular diapers. Then they both attempted running and wiped out pretty good onto their backs. But all was well.
Check out the view from their back yard:

Hey W, I think you are going the wrong way!

You go girl! Isabelle proudly strolls down the slide:

The boys playing in the water:

"You Never Can Tell With Bees..."

If you have read any Winnie the Pooh lately...you know that saying. Well in my case, you never can tell with WASPS. I am about maxed out with paper wasps. I don't know what the deal-io is. I have no neighbors so you would think the wasps would go to the empty houses. But for some reason, they are obsessed with our screened-in porch. On top of that, they are somehow getting into our house! Yes, I have killed about six to eight wasps in our house in the last two weeks.

Including one in our bedroom last night at 10pm. Picture it, I am reading a book, minding my own business, when I hear a strange noise. So I leap up and look down the hall (like that is going to protect me from an intruder or something) and then when I return to our room I hear and see the wasp buzzing around. Arggghhhhh. I leave to get the fly swatter and when I return I don't see it. Great. I am not going to be able to sleep knowing there is a wasp somewhere in the house.

So I stand there for about 5 minutes...then get back into bed (after I checked under all the covers and pillows of course) and start reading again. Well, it re-appears about 15 minutes later. I am shaking, my heart is pounding, and I am diving all over the room to get a good angle to make sure I can kill it first time. I did. And I finally went to bed.

Today. I have killed two in the living room. So I turn on the heat. I know, what?! The entomologist told me to do that monthly to blow any wasps out that may be coming into our furnace room through the roof.

So it is a sauna in the house, both boys JUST filled their diapers with #2 so it smells really bad, and a maintenance man shows up to change out our smoke detectors. I am pretty sure he was thinking I was whacked for running the heat when it is 95 degrees outside...

Before all that craziness, we spent the morning at an air museum. It was fun..the boys enjoyed seeing all of the airplanes. They kept saying "daddy's plane." Although I think they were a bit overwhelmed. When we were outside they wouldn't even move toward the planes so I strapped them in their stroller and then they were fine. They didn't even try to get out of their stroller the whole time. Too busy looking.

A nice display that made for a good photo opportunity:

There weren't any static displays of Aunt JJ's plane though!
