Seattle

We were able to spend a full week in Seattle at the beginning of the month...for some work, yoga, and some sight-seeing. Grammy and Grandpa were able to fly in for a few days to meet us and watch the boys for us so that was wonderful. The boys were pretty excited to see them. Here is W looking like a vagabond with his overflowing back pack ready to leave:

And they hit the ground running. First thing the next morning we dropped the boys and Mark and Jan off at the train station so they could head downtown. The boys went up in the Space Needle, went to a Children's Museum, saw the fish market, and visited the aquarium all on the first day.

There were lots of modes of transportation on this trip...but the favorite: riding on daddy and Grandpa's shoulders of course.

Giant Pacific octopus at the aquarium. I love how W has his hand on J's shoulder.

Geoff and I got to join up with them for part of the Children's Museum, fish market, lunch and the aquarium. I loved the aquarium.

The next day the weather was so much nicer. We dropped the "crew" off at the train station again while Geoff and I went to the Seattle auto auction for a tour. Then we met up at another bigger science center that the boys really enjoyed. They even saw their first 3D IMAX movie about space that morning. Mark and Jan said they were reaching out in front of them and kicking at the objects in the movie for parts. We returned back downtown for lunch and to enjoy the SUN. The boys being funny flipping their baseball hats to turn them into pirate hats:

The original Starbucks:

We ate at Robin Hood one night where J surprised us and wanted a hamburger. And he actually ate it. I wish I had a video of it because he was just eating it up, eating the fries in between, and then he stopped...thought about it...looked uncomfortable and announced "I'm full."

The weather was wonderful the rest of the trip. While I headed off to an all-day yoga training, Geoff, the boys and Mark and Jan went off for a harbor cruise. They really enjoyed seeing the sea lions.

And the next day Mark and Jan had to leave and Geoff and the boys continued seeing Seattle while I finished two more days of yoga training. They went to another 3D IMAX film about chimpanzees and elephants, drove to the Seattle Woodlands zoo, and took a train to Snoqualmie Falls.
Here are W and J snuggling with a dinosaur at the dinosaur exhibit at the zoo:

All is calm and quiet~

~until the dinosaur comes to life! RUN!

Looking awfully sweet on the train ride to the waterfall...

We moved on to Portland the next night to do some tax-free shopping in a big city (and eat PF Changs) before heading home. We ate great food, saw some fun things, and relaxed a little. It is so fun to get away from the day-to-day routine sometimes! Fun trip!

Andrea! The boys are looking so big! They must have grown recently. Good to hear you all are doing great!
