To the park!

The boys have been pretty jolly lately. And very awake. Since the time change they have been going to bed later, getting up even earlier, and not napping. This is the first time they have not taken a nap 3 days in a row! So today I was on a mission...to the bubble park. They haven't been there in months so I packed a lunch, packed our gear and we went for a good hour and a half. It made me tired. I was confident they would take a good L.O.N.G nap to catch up from all the missed sleep.

But we got home and when I put them in their rooms for a nap...J started jumping on his bed. Sigh. Not today.

They have been playing together so well lately. They are interacting...or maybe J is directing..."W, over here.." or "Nooo W, you take this car..." and my favorite "Where is W....?" "W wake up!!!"
Some pics...I love how the boys just made themselves at home at the sand pit in the park:

Notice how W has the toys in a nice tight pile to keep it close:

W loving the big tunnel slide:
Then J...he is very happy here although it doesn't look like it:

I really like these next two pics:

Poor...sick..little guy.....

Geoff doing a breathing treatment:

Laying around after trip to ER:

The boys caught something again that aggravates their asthma. J must have coughed all night long....there is no way he slept at all. So after middle-of-the-night and early morning breathing treatments...Geoff took them both to the ER. I was going to shower and meet them there. But they were seen right away and had already seen the doctor by the time Geoff called me with an update. J was pretty darn miserable...by bedtime tonight they were feeling better and hopefully will crash hard and sleep well!

Dentist

We took the boys to the dentist for a check-up and cleaning (their second time) and they did great! Well J didn't make a peep the whole time (I was with him) but I could hear W screaming a few chairs away. I think the hygienst J had was a little more patient and she explained everything so good that J really listened. Although he looked dead serious the whole time...he held completely still. I didn't even have to hold his hands down after a couple of minutes. They do the full-up scaping and brushing and then paint on the flouride. He has all 20 baby teeth. Poor W didn't have as much fun. I don't think he was feeling well to begin with. But they both survived and all was forgiven the moment they opened the toy drawer. J got a car and W picked a cool swirly bouncy ball.
Total waiting room destruction before appointment:

J picking his flavor:
Looking serious and suspicious........

Looking at pictures on the ceiling:
I didn't get any shots of W because he was behind the wall a few chairs down with Geoff...and I had the camera....

13.1

My awesome friend Claudia came for a visit and to run the Seaside 1/2 Marathon with me. I mean...Florida, the beach, free Vera Bradley handbags for finishing...what more could you want in a race? Uh....warm weather! The weather at start time? 30 degrees with 25-35 mph winds. It was FREEZING. The second half of the race was more tolerable than the first...we were warmed up (finally) and the sun peeked out a little. Neither of us shed any clothes like other (crazy) runners. We never warmed up that much. We saw a man dressed in full up tights, leotard and a tutu...he was actually in second place when we saw him, and we saw a woman running in a bikini. Ok, it wasn't a bikini...but it was one of those track outfits they wear in the Olympic marathons. I wouldn't even have worn that to the beach...let alone while running in public! We finished, had Geoff snap a couple of photos and we left as fast as we could. We just wanted to get in a warm car and take hot showers.

Posing post race with our bags:

At the beach near our house:

I had such a fun time. We shopped, ate yummy restaurant food...and did lots of reminiscing.

Here is a pic of W and J before taking Claudia to the airport. W is wearing a fashionable retro airplane jacket Claudia found out Target for about $2 bucks. She insisted on buying it. And the boys resisted wearing it! I think I had to threaten W that he couldn't go unless he would wear it.....
W's expressions and posture make me laugh in these pics...he is quite into wrinkling his nose at the moment............

Hodge Podge

Here I am trying to get a self-portrait shot of myself and two toddlers with a much-too-big camera to hold with one hand:

Here are some fun pictures with Grandma and Papap this past weekend:

Waving bye-bye...

Valentines Day

First off, did Valentines Day already happen? What's that? It came and went already? WHAT?! Oh. Well, then here is a belated Valentines Day wish from W:

Will You Be My Valentine?
