Spirits

No, we didn't indulge the boys with any "spirits" after dinner...but it sure seems that way in this video! They tend to get a little loopy when they stay up past their bedtime.

And this is for Jen...who tagged me to post some quirky things about myself....the rules stated to "Share six non-important things/habits/quirks about yourself." The rules also stated to tag other people but I am going to skip that part =)

1. I think I need to go on a TV show to learn how to dress...I think all of my years of uniforms and workout clothes have hurt my sense of style (not that I had a lot to begin with!)

2. I can't sit still long enough to watch movies or TV. With the exception of three TV shows: American Idol, So You Think You Can Dance, and Friends. (I know Friends is over...but I can watch it whenever I want on DVD =)) One caveat, I LOVE HGTV and could watch that A LOT. Good thing we don't have that channel.

3. I don't know how to text.

4. I order NF, decaf Caramel Macchiatos at Starbucks. (the rules said "non-important" things right?)

5. I maybe fix my hair once a month. (If you saw me lately, you would believe it!) I have never really done my hair. I had the same bottle of hair spray through jr. high and high school (6 years total) and never finished the bottle. I do own a blow dryer but use it maybe once a month. And I just recently purchased a hair brush.

6. My favorite thing to buy is new furniture. So I won't be doing that here. No room. And no, Melissa, I don't have any furniture in the closets (ok, maybe one small piece)

Boogie Boogie

Get down, get dowwnn.....J saves his best dance moves for the end of the video so if you are strapped for time...fast forward to around 42 seconds into the video....the vid is a little shaky at first bc I was dancing with them! Currently their favorite dancing song is "Don't Stop the Music" by Rihanna.

WeekEND

The weather was fabulous this weekend. My cousin Lindsey happened to be in a rodeo close by so we drove out to see her. We got to meet her close friends and see her other traveling companions: her five horses, chihuahua, and her new puppy.

We had lunch and hung out on the beach...the boys were the best they have ever been eating out. Maybe since their chairs were side by side at the end of the table. They provided everyone with some serious bang-head-on-table-bust-up-laughing displays. W ran like mad on the beach...J was the total opposite. He wanted held the whole time. But they both had so much fun and were so wore out that we had to fight to keep them awake on our drive home.

I had fun taking these pictures...

W getting his workout in...first, running on the beach:

Then yoga:

And some weight lifting (for me that is)-"UP please!"

And I really like these pictures of J with Lindsey:

Daddy, can you walk blindfolded?

And before the weekend, I took the guys to meet Elmo and Grover. I had a big stuffed Grover when I was little that I carried everywhere. The boys have him now and still don't know what to think of him and his long skinny arms and legs. They were pretty indifferent about meeting Elmo and Grover. They don't even know who Elmo is but it made for a fun picture:

Venous Hum

That is what they said J has...a venous hum. The cardiologist said that he has "an innocent, completely normal, childhood heart murmur that goes away when he lies down." Hallelujah! We are very thankful to God that he got a clean bill of health from the doctor yesterday. She said the nurse practitioner and doctor who originally saw him were concerned (and rightly so) about the murmur's location. They were hearing the murmur high up in his chest and on the opposite side in which murmurs are normally heard which can be a bad sign. But the fact that he has no other symptoms, his EKG and tests were fine, and that it disappears when he lies down all cleared him.
So, in response to my friend Amber's question "What are you thankful for today?"
THAT is what I am thankful for today.

I am also thankful for:
*My husband being safe after this weeks tragedy
*Being inside during the stormy weather we are having
*Katy and Bear-unconditional love at its finest
*My camera...that captures moments I want to have forever:

Be My Valentine

Happy Valentines Day!

Here are some pics of the boys last year on Valentines...

What a difference a year makes. They were six months in the pictures above. I have gotten a lot of use out of those heart-shaped cookie cutters!

The boys and I went to the store yesterday with the purpose of getting them each a new truck for valentines day. There wasn't much to choose from but we managed to find two treasures. They LOVE their trucks. I was looking for some rough-can-take-a-true-beating kind of truck for their outdoor play.

J excited about his new truck!

Valentine construction/destruction trucks!

And just a few pictures from the week:
Having fun in the backyard

Trying to run from mommy

I am not supposed to eat the crayon?

Let the wind blow through your hair

Just r e l a x...and have a good weekend!

Grease

I think J may be channeling Danny from the movie Grease...at least in terms of his hair...

Please excuse me for STARING...

I can't help it. I stare at the boys all the time. I think they are catching on. The other day I was holding W in my lap. He had just woken up and I was looking (ok, staring) right at his profile. He opened his eyes really wide, and without turning his head, rolled his eyes away from me, than rolled his eyes all the way towards me as if he is saying "C'mon mom, WHAT are you looking at?" I busted up laughing and so did he. Just so darn cute.

Fun park trip this weekend:

W in a "bigger boy" swing

Higher higher!

And this morning...those curls were begging to have their picture taken...

W playing fetch with Katy...
