Happy Birthday Geoff and Uncle Matt!

We love you!

And yet another weekend. It has been so nice. Geoff worked his tail off yesterday scrubbing the soffits, doors, porch pillars, porch ceiling, garage door, etc. and it looks so great! Our house is gleaming.
We returned to the water park, visited with our neighbors, rented movies, and I did some baking. Geoff requested chocolate cake. I don't know where the last three and a half days went.

Papap will be in town tomorrow so we have a babysitter so I can take Geoff out for his birthday dinner sometime in the next couple of days. Yay date night!

As for the boys, J just started pointing at things and W can now climb on and off the couch. Sometimes he falls off the couch...keep your eyes out for a climbing video.

L O N G Weekend

Geoff took some time off work the last couple of days and we had a great time. I will say that it didn't start out on a good note. We were in a rush and accidentally gave the boys a couple of bites of a yogurt that makes them sick. Sooo...first thing Saturday, Geoff was rocking J and I was holding W over the sink. He only got sick twice. Culprit: flax seed found in the cereal mixed in the yogurt.

But it only got better from there...we did some organizing/cleaning/landscaping for the house, we went to a nearby water park, we took another road trip with the boys for some house-hunting, and we enjoyed every moment watching these guys just being 13 months old. Here are some pictures from the weekend:
First grocery cart ride...check out that cadillac!
Off to church

J being "feisty" when his toys and trucks just won't do what he wants them to do!

They are just SO fun right now. I can't get enough of 'em.............thanks for checking in on us!

HAPPY 4th Birthday!!

Today is our neice Chloe's birthday. I can't believe she is already four! Here are some pictures of her at her gymnastics birthday party (sent via her mommy)...unfortunately we weren't there. It looks like she had a blast!

As for us, we are enjoying cooler weather. It is funny how I feel I need to wear long sleeves when it is in the 70s! I absolutely love September through January. This is my FAVORITE time of the year. Who doesn't love fall and pumpkins and jackets and sweaters and leaves and fireplaces and snowmen and hot chocolate and all of the holidays? It makes me very happy.

*Breaking news* Both of the boys have taken their first unassisted steps! I didn't catch them on video-hey, I can't get EVERYTHING =). But W did allow me to get a video of him "walking" last night. I will post it under the video section. It was at night so the video quality isn't that great...and his diaper is somehow hanging out of his onesie...no, I don't know why.
Happy Fall to All...

Saturday Fun

On the swing........

The weather was beautiful today! I think the humidity is starting to go away...yay! So we went to the park and then over to our friends' house for some curry and playtime. Here are some pictures of our fun day.

ECO BABY!

I just wanted to inform everyone that I found a FANTASTIC line of products called "Nature Babycare" at Target. The company was founded by a Swedish mother who was disturbed by an article she read stating "that every year of a baby's life resulted in a mountain of used diapers weighing half a ton, every year. Even more disturbing was the fact that the traditional diapers were mainly made of plastic made from oil."

Well, I tried these diapers and they work just as well as Pampers, Huggies, etc. Geoff accidentally put Wyatt in these Eco-diapers overnight and there were no leaks--zero! They have had quite large "number 2s" that have not even taken this diaper out. I am very impressed.

As for the cost...it is $9.54 for a 30-pack. So about 32 cents per diaper. A little bit more than the standard diaper but I think worth it. Even if you only buy a pack once in awhile, it will make a big difference.

The same company has a little box of biodegradable bags to put the diapers in. I can put three very full diapers in one bag, then I just toss it in our big garbage bin.

Target has this line of products on the end of the baby food row (where sale items normally are) so they aren't prominently displayed. I just worry people won't see them and Target won't carry them anymore. So check it out...they also have wipes, baby bath, baby shampoo, etc. Lots of cute stuff in cute Eco-friendly packaging.

I found a chart comparison from England where these diapers were ranked higher than any other diaper on the chart (the fifth diaper listed): http://www.naty.com/bilder/motherbaby.jpg

And their great website: http://www.naty.com/eng/index.html

Check out the "press" link for all of the awards they have won and pictures..including Gwyneth Paltrow's baby Apple wearing these diapers back in 2005 (they have been around for awhile!)

Go tell all of your friends! =)

Fat Tuesday

All four of us had a fat Tuesday yesterday. Geoff and I are big fans of curry and there is a great place here that we like to get take out from...and we always eat too much! The boys ate their fair share of food too (don't worry, no curry). They downed over six jars of baby food plus some cut up chicken, broccoli, cantaloupe, and cheerios.

We ended our long weekend with some pool fun. Please don't be jealous of our pool =)
