Baby Days

I am finding with a baby in the house that many days go by when I do very little except keep the kids fed and clean.  And safe.  I would say dressed but we do stay in our pajamas some days because we just do.  :)  And I am not complaining about this by the way.  I don't mind being home.  And we have our share of rough days: tantrum-throwing, no-good, grumpy, feeling sick, overtired and overwhelming days.  But there is a lot of great stuff too.  Here are all the faces of baby these days.

She LOVES it when the boys bounce her in her crib.

One Fish Two Fish - Rainbow Fish Rainbow Fish

There was a free fishing day for kids under 12 years old Saturday.  They should call it speed fishing!  You sign in on a clipboard, they hand you a cup of worms, a pole that is all ready to go, and you fish.  Each of the boys pulled out a fish about 5-10 seconds after their bait hit the water.  In fact, it was amazingly similar to the fishing game they have at carnivals or fairs...throw the pole over and out comes a prize!

I am pretty sure it took us longer to put sunscreen on the boys than it did to fish!  Avery only had a couple of minutes to sun her legs.

J got a 2 1/2 lb rainbow trout and W pulled out a 1.9 lb trout.  There was a hatchery employee right there to smack the fish (I still am in shock over that-and to be honest, I think the boys are too...they didn't have very much to say over the whole experience) and to net your fish.  Wham Bam.   W was making sure the fish didn't touch him in this photo:
We told the boys that fishing is never that fast.  I think they were a little in shock over our 5-minute fishing trip.  I didn't want them to think it is always that easy!
We were happy to see some friends of ours there as well.  One - because it was good to see them and two - because Geoff had some good instruction on how to clean the fish.  Thanks Tim!

The Case of the Missing Cheerio

Yay! Time to eat.
Let me get that Cheerio.
Got it!
Is this a Cheerio?
Hey.  Where did it go?
Cheerio?
Who?  What?  Where?
Found it!  I love Cheerios!

Projects!

The boys have been busy bees at school this year.  Artwork, crafts, and drawings trickle in throughout the year.  I love their little creations.
J holding his caterpillar magnet:

Scarlet runner beans the boys brought home and are growing out of control in our pantry right now.

Homemade Mother's Day gifts-the best!
Card and vase of flowers J brought home.

Just a peek at some of their work in their preschool portfolios.  Their teacher got some really great pictures of them busy at school.

 Crazy hat day...
