This was our first real "spring break" since the boys started kindergarten. Grammy and Grandpa arrived for the week and we took a trip to Sunriver for a few days. Geoff found a great deal on an amazing duplex and truthfully, we wish we had one more full day to explore all the trails and parks. I will start this post with second trip to the pool since that is the way the pics uploaded. A and I arrived first bc everyone else rode bikes over. She stayed in her clothes and assessed the pool for about 10 minutes. We put her swimsuit on and she took one more good look at the pool...and RAN over to get in.
She was everywhere, in and out of the pool, up and down the slide, exploring all around and even almost stepped right into the big pool. Fearless in the pool.
The boys were so excited to swim. They didn't stop for a second. I couldn't believe they had so much energy...after the bike ride and after a full day of skiing.
It was really fun watching them do their own thing.
This pool complex had a wave machine...I have never seen one before...it was loud but pretty cool to
watch. Here is a random person surfing on the wave...
The boys liked to cycle in and out of the hot tub outside then return to the pool inside...
So let's rewind to earlier that day....here are the boys outside the duplex before the bike ride to the pool...posing next to a wooden bear.
And even earlier that day...Jack on the chairlift with Grandpa on Mt. Bachelor.
The boys are doing great skiing. This may be the last ski trip of the season. Geoff put in a lot of effort to get them skiing this year. I think this was their 8th or 9th day of the season skiing. Geoff said they even did a blue run and didn't know it. They were even leading the group down a run on the last day. Geoff got a great video of them skiing...they were following Grammy down the hill and Geoff was following them. I will try to post it but it may be too big.
Meanwhile, Avery and I were doing a little shopping. Here she is hanging out with the manequins at the Gap.
Let's rewind some more...pre-ski pictures...
Avery smiling when she saw I had my camera. She will not keep any bow or clip in her hair for more than a minute so most of the time her hair looks like this:
Helping me shop....
Enjoying a smoothie in the big city...
We ate at a local brewery that night and for this pic...J tried to grab A to get into the picture, and she screeched and walked over and swatted him on the arm! The boys were a little surprised that she did that. J is wearing his skull shirt and when he pulled those socks up (they also have skulls) he said "now I am ready for summer." :) I think maybe Avery is checking out his skull socks here.
As soon as we arrived into town we went to the High Desert Museum. They had bald eagles, otters, big cats....cool sculptures...
After the museum we checked into the house and the boys immediately got their swim trunks on for
the pool.
Grammy and A checking out the tall fireplace.
Avery was getting a little too comfortable in the car waiting for the boys to rent skis.
The first pool we went to just opened last summer. It is an indoor/outdoor pool. It was crazy crowded bc it was spring break week but the boys didn't care. It was a little much for Avery though so clung to Geoff the whole time.
All of the areas were sectioned off in the indoor pool. One of the sections pulled had a circular bar that pulled people around in a circle.
After the pool our friends came over for dinner. The Kennedy's used to live in our neighborhood and now they live in Bend. It is nice they are close enough we still get to see them. Here is Cadence holding Avery.
Lounging at REI
Walking around the Old Mill district.
Spring Break was awesome!!
